The incident happened as the Alaska Airlines jet was landing at John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, California, on Aug. 20. The flight happened during Tropical Storm Hilary, and the pilots talked about needing to make a firm landing. But the NTSB says the touchdown force appears to have been within the airline's limits for the Boeing 737 jet.
