Calcutta HC finds HUL not guilty in 'Red Label' branding case

The Calcutta High Court has declared Hindustan Unilever "not guilty" in a case relating to the alleged misbranding of its "Red Label Natural Care Tea". The court also acquitted the officials charged with violating the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act. The case, dating back to 2014, saw a food inspector claiming that the label implied medical recommendations. The judge initially convicted the company, but the conviction was later set aside.
