BLOCK SOUGHT: T-Mobile USA, fresh from federal regulators putting the kibosh on its acquisition by AT&T, now hopes the feds will stop Verizon from buying spectrum from cable companies for $3.9 billion. TOO MUCH CONSOLIDATION? T-Mobile USA says a deal between Verizon Wireless, Comcast Corp., Time Warner Cable Inc., Bright House Networks and Cox Communications would put an "excessive concentration" of wireless spectrum in Verizon's hands. AT ISSUE: With more spectrum, Verizon will be able to keep downloads fast and serve more data-hungry devices like smartphones and laptops.
