United Airlines CEO no longer set to be chairman in wake of passenger-dragging controversy

The parent of United Airlines said Friday that the airline’s CEO, Oscar Munoz, is no longer expected to become chairman of the company next year as was previously planned. The announcement, made in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, comes after Chicago-based United (NYSE: UAL) has faced a public-relations nightmare over the violent removal of passenger David Dao from United Express flight 3411 on April 9.
