Decision to suspend WFI not taken under any pressure: UP BJP chief

Uttar Pradesh BJP chief defends the suspension of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) by the Union Sports Ministry, stating it followed due process. The WFI made a hasty announcement of organizing the U-15 and U-20 nationals without following due procedure and not giving sufficient notice to wrestlers. The WFI elections were won by Sanjay Singh, a loyalist of former president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, amidst protests by wrestlers who had levied sexual harassment allegations against Brij Bhushan.
