Suicide pact: Bengal man kills wife, self but daughter survives

A trader in Kolkata slit the throat of his wife and attempted to murder his daughter before hanging himself in an apparent suicide pact. The family had been contemplating taking this extreme step due to rising debt. The trader had incurred heavy losses in his business and was looking to sell off their flat. The daughter survived the incident and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
