Under-construction Kolkata building falls on slum, 10 dead

A tragic incident unfolded in Garden Reach as a five-storey building, built illegally in a congested area, collapsed, resulting in the loss of 10 lives and injury to 17 individuals. Rescue efforts are ongoing to locate three missing persons buried under the debris. The victims, mostly from a nearby slum, included two construction labourers. Md Wasim alias Wasi, the building promoter, has been arrested and charged with various offences.
