*DALLAS, TX / ACCESSWIRE / February 27, 2024 /* Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas (GSNETX) backed by Amazon, the presenting sponsor of Girl Scout Leadership Institute, presents another playground of imagination at Galleria Dallas with the return of Cookie Box Creations. This year, four teams of Girl Scouts in grades 6-12 collaborated with local architects and engineers from BOKA Powell, VLK Architects, Cisco, and J&L Paving to transform empty cookie boxes into extraordinary, free-standing structures inspired by classic board games.

In line with the 2024 Girl Scout Cookie season theme "Unbox the Future," Cookie Box Creations exemplifies Girl Scouts' commitment to eliminating the barriers that confine girls to certain professional and social roles. The program aims to spark girls' passion for STEM and related career paths, equip them with creativity, problem-solving, and collaborative skills, and promote meaningful connections with experienced mentors.

"Cookie Box Creations is a testament to our organization's commitment to relevant programming and forging meaningful community partnerships that prepare girls to be the leaders of tomorrow," said Ashley Crowe, Chief Program Officer at GSNETX. "This program is so much more than an art display; it is a hands-on educational venture that challenges girls to explore various STEM strategies in order to achieve their objective."

After months of preparation, the Girl Scouts and mentors were given five hours to assemble their imaginative designs on-site. The "Let the Games Begin" exhibition features Chess, Candyland, Clue, and Battleship game pieces reimagined as larger-than-life cookie box masterpieces. Visitors can enjoy the unique blend of nostalgia and innovation now on display at Galleria Dallas through March 24. Each creation celebrates the timeless joy of board games while showcasing Girl Scouts' ingenuity and limitless potential.

A panel of expert judges from Amazon and Suffolk will announce one winning team at the conclusion of the exhibition based on creativity, engineering complexity, use of color and materials, and adherence to this year's theme. Additionally, visitors can cast their vote for the People's Choice Award via QR codes accompanying each of the creations.

J&L Paving's team constructed a whimsical Candyland creation featuring the Lollipop Woods and Gumdrop Mountains vividly realized in the vibrant hues of the cookie boxes. Each sweet game piece is dressed in vests and sashes that represent all Girl Scout levels, from Daisy to Ambassador.

Boka Powell's built a naval spectacle with their rendition of Battleship. This two-sided display includes two show-stopping oversized battleship game pieces, and the target grids and cookie box-crafted pegs really bring the game to life, setting the scene for a strategic showdown.

VLK Architects' team brings the intrigue of Clue to life in their interactive creation set within a model of the game's Library. Cookie box clues placed throughout the room invite viewers to crack the mystery. The display encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills, key elements of Girl Scouting.

Cisco's team engineered a Chess-inspired creation to empower girls to make confident moves in both chess and life. Skillfully crafted three-dimensional pieces appear mid-match on the checkered board, including a king pawn adorned with a Girl Scout sash and Trefoil crown instead of the traditional cross.
