Samsung is set to introduce the most-anticipated Android smartphone so far, the Galaxy S III, at a launch event in London on Tuesday
LONDON, United Kingdom -- Samsung was set to introduce its Galaxy S III smartphone in London on Tuesday evening.
The latest model in the Galaxy S series follows in the footsteps of the two commercially most successful Android smartphones ever, the Galaxy S and its successor model, the Galaxy S II. In fact, the Galaxy S phones have helped Samsung to become the world's largest phone maker.
It's understandable, therefore, that anticipation was running high and the rumor mill running frantically ahead of the event.
Here are some rumored expectations of the Galaxy S III:
- Processor: Exynos 4 Quad processor capable of 1090p video recording and playback
- Screen: Expectations on the screen quality are high based on previous models and the fact that Samsung is a top display maker. The Galaxy S III is expected to have up to a 4.8-inch high-resolution display
- Cloud storage: Samsung is expected to launch its own competing cloud service, rumored to be called "S-Cloud".
- Slightly more exotic rumors talk about a new feature which locks the phone when the user looks away from the screen.
