But, little did a Californian kiteboarder know that the smartwatch could help him survive white shark infested waters. John Zilles, 49, was stranded off Ventura, California where great whites sharks have been spotted. While riding a hydrofoil, Zilles crashed into the water and was unable to fly his kite again. He slowly swam against the current with all the kit on him for about an hour in the dangerous waters before realizing he was wearing the Apple Watch. According to Daily Mail, Zilles checked the time on his Apple Watch Series 3 and remembered it can make calls. So he called his
