Things are falling apart for the gays in episode two of House of the Dragon as our leading sapphics are torn apart by a marriage proposal.

The HBO Game of Thrones prequel series has continued to grip fans with its stellar acting, high stakes drama and, of course, gay vibes.

At the end of the last episode we saw the current King Viserys (Paddy Considine) proclaim his daughter Princess Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock) as his heir over his brother, Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith).

In episode two we see the consequences of this decision play out as Daemon takes over another castle, Dragonstone, and attempts a stand-off with the King, which is averted just in time.

Meanwhile, in Viserys’ continued pursuit to have a son, there is a council meeting to discuss who his second wife should be, after his first wife and baby son died during a C-section in episode one.

Military leader Corlys Velaryon horrifyingly offers his 12-year-old daughter, Laena Velaryon (Nova Foueillis-Mosé), for marriage, but in a dramatic twist the King chooses Alicent Hightower (Emily Carey) aka Rhaenyra’s best friend and probably lover.

it's only been two episodes, but if anyone harms rhaenyra and alicent, i am willing to risk it all for their safety and happiness #HouseoftheDragon pic.twitter.com/lC34ypoZ9l
