Bruno Mars Leads American Music Awards With 8 NominationsThe nominations for the 45th annual American Music Awards are in, and Bruno Mars leads the pack with eight nominations this year.

Ciara announced the nominees Thursday morning on “Good Morning America.” The Chainsmokers, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran and The Weeknd all tied with five nominations each. Justin Bieber, Daddy Yankee and Luis Fonsi all earned four nominations, and Keith Urban snagged three.

Mars is up for Artist of the Year, as well as Video of the Year and Favorite Male Artist (Pop/Rock). He’s joined in the Artist of the year battle by The Chainsmokers, Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Ed Sheeran.

Other notable categories include New Artist of the Year, for which James Arthur, Niall Horan, Julia Michaels, Post Malone and Rae Sremmurd will vie for votes. Best collaboration bring nominations to The Chainsmokers, featuring Halsey, for  “Closer;” Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee, featuring Justin Bieber, for “Despacito;” DJ Khaled, featuring Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance The Rapper and Lil Wayne, for “I’m The One;” Maroon 5, featuring Kendrick Lamar, for “Don’t Wanna Know;” and The Weeknd, featuring Daft Punk, for “Starboy.”

Voting opened Thursday online, and as the awards are based on fan votes, make your voice heard and head over to theamas.com/vote or tweet your vote, including the hashtag #AMAs and the artists’ twitter handle. Voting for Artist of the year closes on Nov. 16. Voting for every other category closes Nov. 13.
