At least nine people were killed and around 50 injured when the roof of a church collapsed during a Mass in northern Mexico. Approximately 30 parishioners were believed to be trapped in the rubble. Search and rescue teams were deployed, including the National Guard, state police, state civil defense office, and the Red Cross. The cause of the collapse is suspected to be a structural failure. The Mexican Council of Bishops expressed condolences and offered prayers for the victims.
