like homework... especially when it's assigned - by mom. but one young razorback fan turned a simple powerpoint presentation... into a powerful life lesson... based on razorback star brandon burlsworth. meet one springdale student - doing it "the burls way." ### haley person, 10 yrs. old "i really enjoyed learning about this amazing person, brandon burlsworth." ((nate)) she never saw him play a game... but 10-year-old haley person says this former razorback changed her life. haley person, 10 yrs. old "i saw the trailer for the movie and i decided i wanted to know more." ((nate)) the film "greater" tells the story of brandon burlsworth. the walk-on turned all-american offensive lineman died in a car accident 11 days after being drafted into the n-f-l back in 19-99. kim person, haley's mom "she came to me and said she has to see the movie, she just had to so i told her that if she would make some type of presentation or convince me somehow to take her, that i would." ((nate)) so haley took to google - and created a powerpoint presentation showcasing burlsworth's story of overcoming the odds. haley person, 10 yrs. old "but then once i started sharing it to people, it kind of all took off, and it became much more than a movie." haley person, 10 yrs. old "this whole thing has really transformed me." ((nate)) haley began sharing the story with classes at her springdale school... to inspire them as well. kim person, haley's mom "being in the 5th grade is very difficult. there's lots of struggles and so his story has just touched her and made coming to school every day and dealing with those struggles so much easier for her." ((nate)) mom says she'll hold up her end of the bargain - and take haley to see the movie. but it's the homework on her hero... that's changed the way this fifth grader sees the world. haley person, 10 yrs. old "he showed me that sometimes rain is going to fall. sometimes people are going to be mean. sometimes nothing's going to go right, but he just kept fighting through things, and that's how, that's how i want to live my life. i want to do it the burls' way." ##### ((jo ann)) you can watch haley's powerpoint presentation on our website. you'll also find more information on the brandon burlsworth foundation - which provides eye exams and glasses to kids in need. the movie "greater" is slated for release this summer. ### ((jo ann)) time now
