Local media said the plane had reported an electrical fault shortly before it disappeared off radar screens although investigators are also looking into an account from one of the survivors that the chartered jet ran out of fuel about five minutes from its expected landing at Jose Maria Cordova airport outside Medellin. The club’s main goalkeeper, Marcos Padilha aka Danilo, was also pulled alive from the wreckage but a spokesman said he later died in hospital.
