Transcript: Silver Star Nation: Jaylon Smith's Debut & Brad Sham's Birth

september 1st at 7:30pmjason garrett/cowboys head coach oh it's brad's birthday. august 16th. how about that. happy birthday brad. (brad sham: thank you jason!)the voice of the dallas cowboysbabe laufenberg/silver star nation yes indeed. the voice of the dallas cowboys and my broadcast partner on the dallas cowboys radio network. brad sham turned 39 today for the 29th consecutive year. as for the team we both cover, there is a whole lot of excitement being generated by a man who hasn't played football in 18 months. that guy would be linebacker jaylon smith. jerry jones announced smith will make his nfl debut this saturday night. the cowboys selected the linebacker in the second round of last years draft despite the fact some medical folks said he'd never play football again. smith suffered a gruesome ankle injury in notre dame's bowl game against ohio state. eighteen month later jaylon smith, who played his college and high school football in indiana, makes his debut against the indianapolis colts. jaylon smith/cowboys linebacker for me growing up in indiana, i actually played in lucas oil stadium about five or six times. i was a state champion four years in a row at biship luers high school. so it'll be a great feeling to play against the colts. jason garrett/cowboys head coach and i say this and you guys will probably laugh a little bit but he literally has not had a bad minute since he's been here. babe laufenberg/silver star nation that doesn't make me laugh it makes me cry that the guy hasn't had a bad minute since he's been here. don't we all wish we could say the same?again, jaylon smith getting his first playing time in 18 months. it'll come this saturday night at at&t stadium against his hometown indianapolis colts. in oxnard, california at cowboys training camp, i'm babe laufenberg.
