Nepal survivors recount devastating 5.6-magnitude earthquake

At least 157 people died and more than 100 were injured when a 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck a remote pocket in west Nepal on the evening of 3 November.

Villagers say they were up all night digging through the rubble of their destroyed houses in search for survivors.

“My brother and I were buried [under the rubble] and I lost my consciousness.

My brother was screaming for help.,” says Kamal Oli.

Nepal lies on a major geological faultline, making it more prone to earthquakes.
