Culture Secretary says TV licence must remain affordable

Culture Secretary Lucy Frazer says the government is looking at ways to ensure the licence fee remains affordable as it is set to rise with inflation.

The licence fee, which funds BBC radio and television services, has been frozen at the annual price of £159 for the past two years but it was previously agreed it would rise in line with inflation after April 2024.
