The "portrait of shame " was winner of the major prize for Gippsland.
It was a parody of the people around me.
Shameful people are obedient.
I did not hold back on confronting images when I exhibited on Phillip Island for 3 years .
I really have never held back ever.
I had one or two curators who were willing to put my paintings forward which helped.
I knew in my heart they would come out of the woodwork because we are all not of the same ilk and art touches so deeply.
I guess I haven't lost faith in humanity just yet.
