Highlights of Alan Bates at Post Office Inquiry

Former subpostmaster Alan Bates, who led the campaign to expose the Horizon IT scandal, has told the Post Office inquiry that the organisation has spent 23 years trying to silence him.

Giving evidence in central London on Tuesday, Mr Bates criticised former postal affairs minister Ed Davey for saying the government had an “arms-length relationship” with the Post Office.

He also described the Post Office as “an atrocious organisation” that needs “disbanding”.
