The U.S. House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol is a select committee of the United States House of Representatives formed through a largely party-line vote, on July 1, 2021, to investigate the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6 that year. The attack was a culmination of the attempts to overturn the 2020 United States presidential election. The membership of the committee has been a point of significant political contention, with House Republicans boycotting the committee. The investigation commenced with public hearings on July 27, when four police officers testified.
