Mark Sanford: 115th Governor of South Carolina
Marshall Clement "Mark" Sanford Jr. is an American politician of the Republican Party who served as a U.S. Representative for South Carolina's 1st congressional district from 1995 to 2001. Sanford was then elected Governor of South Carolina from 2003 until 2011. He ran again for the U.S. House and served from 2013 to 2019. He was defeated in the 2018 Republican primary. He is currently a teaching fellow at the University of Chicago Institute of Politics.
