Rare polio-like illness affecting kids may have reached Alberta

Alberta Health officials say one child was hospitalized earlier this year with what may have been a case of acute flaccid myelitis, known as AFM. The rare disease, which causes muscle weakness in the limbs and can have long-term effects, has been on the rise in the U.S. and doctors elsewhere in Canada say they're starting to see cases, too.
