Report: Intel-owned Mobileye inks deal for 8 million self-driving cars

Intel Corp.-owned self-driving car company Mobileye has signed a deal with a European automaker to supply nearly-autonomous driving technology to 8 million cars in 2021, Reuters reports. Terms of the deal, and the automaker’s identity, were not immediately released. Leading European automakers include Volkswagen, Daimler, BMW and Peugeot. The deal marks a major win for Intel, which spent $15.3 billion last year to buy Israel-based Mobileye. It also means millions of mostly-autonomous cars will…
