Global Energy Metals Corporation (CVE:GEMC) (OTCMKTS:GBLEF) CEO Mitchell Smith told investors on Thursday that the company is well-placed to take advantage of the coming lithium battery boom. Smith’s statement comes after a busy six months for the Vancouver-based company, forming partnerships and increasing its land position to advance its portfolio of cobalt projects, the flagship of which is the 100%-owned Millennium property in Ontario. Lithium-ion batteries are at the heart of the current and future energy transition, according to GEMC’s Smith.  Cloud Nine Education Group Ltd (CSE:CNI) (OTCMKTS:CLGUF) updated shareholders Thursday on its market strategy for its cloud-based digital English as a Second Language (ESL) curriculum. The Vancouver-based company said it is targeting overseas markets as internet access expands worldwide, and discussions are on the table to push into Mexico, Brazil, the Philippines, South Korea, Vietnam, China and India. Cloud Nine has resellers in Mexico and the Philippines, and discussions continue to advance with representation in South Korea that would facilitate expansion throughout Asia. Pacton Gold Inc (CVE:PAC) (OTCMKTS:PACXF) continues to expand its footprint in the prolific Red Lake area of Ontario -- as it struck a deal to acquire 150 mineral claims known as the Gullrock Lake property. The acquisition increases the firm's ground by 2,700 hectares in the Red Lake district to 23,110 hectares. The new claims adjoin its existing northern block and are an eastern extension of the producing Red Lake Mine trend.Pacton can earn a 100% interest of Gullrock by paying a total of C$125,000 and issuing 750,000 of its shares over four years. Iplayco Corp Ltd (CVE:IPC), the children's play equipment specialist, announced Thursday that it will be acquired by Philippines-based retail and real estate conglomerate TSL888 Investments Inc for around C$5.11 million in cash. TSL will acquire all of the firm’s shares under a plan of arrangement for C$0.50 a pop, representing a 61.29% premium over Iplayco's closing share price on October 30. Iplayco's board has unanimously approved the plan and recommends that its shareholders vote in favour. Mirasol Resources Ltd (CVE:MRZ) (OTCMKTS:MRZLF), the project generator focused on the Americas, has inked a deal to option out its Nord project in Chile. The firm signed a memorandum of understanding with Mineria Activa granting the latter the option to buy 100% of the asset over four years. Mineria is a Chilean, mining-focused, private equity fund with over US$150 million in assets under management. Orgenesis Inc (NASDAQ:ORGS) has named Bala Manian — a man who holds more than 40 patents and whose Academy Award-winning three-color laser was used in Star Wars — to its scientific advisory board. The company said it hopes Manian can help advance its Point-of-Care (POCare) cellular therapy platform. “Bala Manian will be a very important appointment to the Orgenesis Scientific Advisory Board,” CEO Vered Caplan said in a statement. Ascent Industries Corp (CSE:ASNT) (OTCMKTS:PGTMF) said Thursday that it has reached a settlement with its largest creditor Green Sage LLC and its affiliates. In a statement, the company said the Green Sage claim has been resolved and they have agreed to support a plan of arrangement to be presented shortly to the company’s creditors. “Once finalized and filed with the court, a creditor meeting will be scheduled to approve this plan,” Ascent Industries said. PyroGenesis Canada Inc (CVE:PYR) announced Thursday that the TSX Venture Exchange has approved documentation related to a C$168,000 private placement. The company issued 300,000 units at a price of C$0.56 per unit, and proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, according to an earlier statement. PyroGenesis, which is based in Montreal, is a high-tech company that designs, develops, manufactures and commercializes plasma atomized metal powder, plasma waste-to-energy systems and plasma torch products. Fura Gems Inc (CVE:FURA) (OTCMKTS:FUGMF) announced the extension of the drop dead date for the closing of the amended Merger of Ruby Assets Agreement (MRAA) dated July 14, 2018. In keeping with the MRAA, the company gave New Energy Minerals Ltd written notice to extend the drop-dead date of the MRAA from October 31 to November 30. The MRAA contemplates the purchase and sale by Fura of interests in three ruby licenses in Mozambique. The transaction is subject to the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange. Fura is involved in the mining of rubies in Mozambique through its 80% interest in four ruby licenses. It’s also engaged in the exploration of resources in Colombia where it owns a 76% interest in the Coscuez Emerald Mine in Boyacá. Nerds On Site Inc (CSE:NERD) (OTCMKTS:NOSUF) revealed Thursday that it posted record fiscal first-quarter financial results as the company's cybersecurity services and US expansion lifted revenue by 41.7%, compared to the same period a year earlier.  For the three months ended August 31, the Toronto-based mobile IT solutions company posted a 41.7% jump in revenue to $2.931 million, compared to revenue of $2.068 million for the same period a year earlier. Next Green Wave Holdings Inc (CSE:NGW) (OTCMKTS:NXGWF) announced that a selected line of its products will now be available by direct delivery in San Diego. The firm holds around 107,000 hectares within the Meguma gold district and is focused on finding wide-spread, disseminated gold. The work is aimed at defining drill targets at the property. Valens GroWorks Corp (CVE:VGW) (OTCMKTS:VGWCF), a vertically integrated provider of extraction products and services said Thursday that it struck a multi-year white label agreement with BRNT Ltd, a cannabis ancillary company to launch a line of cannabis vape pens in Canada. In a statement, the Kelowna, British Columbia-based extraction company said that under the terms of deal, Valens will provide high-quality cannabis extracts, filling services and national distribution of a line of custom-formulated BRNT-branded vape pens. Capstone Turbine Corporation (NASDAQ:CPST) announced Thursday that it has won a second order for its microturbine for use in Manhattan’s Hudson Yards district.  The company said the follow-on order for a second Capstone Turbine C1000S Signature Series microturbine with a Factory Protection Plan (FPP) will be used for a grid-connect combined heat and power (CHP) project at the South East Tower on Manhattan’s westside.  Atlas Engineered Products Ltd (CVE:AEP) (OTCMKTS:APEUF) announced a supply and purchase deal with Gillfor Distribution Inc, which, it says, will generate significant market penetration and revenue growth for the group. Gillfor is a leading independent wholesale distributor of building materials and will supply all of Atlas's Eastern Canadian operations with engineered wood products. NexTech AR Solutions Corp (CSE:NTAR) (OTCMKTS:NEXCF) announced Thursday the launch of its game-changing CaptureAR technology. The company, a leader in the growing augmented reality industry, said the CaptureAR technology will add to the revenue-generating power of its ARitize AR e-commerce solution and soon-to-be-launched AR, 3D 360 advertising platform.  “CaptureAR is a pivotal new technology which we believe will accelerate the augmented reality global marketplace," said CEO Evan Gappelberg in a statement. Great Panther Mining Limited (NYSEAMERICAN:GPL) (TSE:GPR) posted a C$59.3 million increase in revenue in its third quarter, thanks to the addition of its Tucano mine in Brazil, where it expects to continue to see production increases. Revenue for the three months to end September was C$71 million, compared to C$11.6 million in the same quarter a year ago, with Tucano accounting for C$58.2 million of that figure, the miner said. Higher realized gold and silver prices also contributed to the uplift. Also, in separate statements on Thursday, Great Panther said CEO James Bannantine had left the firm immediately following a decision by the company's board to effect a leadership change. Chair Jeffrey Mason assumes the additional role of interim president and CEO  until a permanent successor is in place. The miner also revealed it had enhanced its management team with the appointment of mining engineer Neil Hepworth as chief operating officer (COO). Maxtech Ventures Inc (CSE:MVT) (OTCMKTS:MTEHF) is expanding its land position in Red Lake, Ontario with an additional 20 square kilometres at its new Panama Lake property.  Last week the junior announced an agreement to acquire the early-stage exploration project from Benton Resources Inc. The new land covers at least one historical gold occurrence and lies along the same fault that crosscuts the existing property, bringing Panama Lake’s total area to over 88 square kilometres. Aftermath Silver Ltd (CVE:AAG.H) (OTCMKTS:FLMZF) is making a triumphant return to the TSX Venture Exchange. Thanks to the company’s purchase of the Cachinal Silver-Gold Project in Chile and the closing of a C$2.5 million private placement, the junior explorer has officially met the requirements to be listed as a TSX-V Tier 2 category issuer. VR Resources Ltd (CVE:VRR) (OTCMKTS:VRRCF) told investors on Thursday that drilling is underway on its Ranoke copper-gold project in Ontario. Over the summer the junior explorer announced it had discovered a large gravity anomaly that could be evidence of a robust body of copper sulfide. Vancouver-based VR is planning to drill an initial three holes that are expected to be between 500 and 1,000 metres deep. Arctic Star Exploration Corp (CVE:ADD), a junior resource group said its board of directors has approved a consolidation of shares on the basis of one post-consolidated share for five pre-consolidated shares. The consolidation is subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval. Currently, a total of 129,814,274 shares are issued and outstanding. Accordingly, on consolidation becoming effective, a total of approximately 25,962,855 common shares will be issued and outstanding.
