New concept in Mt. Vernon's former Melody Cafe to serve up soul food

The owners of a Mount Vernon beauty salon will soon bring soul food to St. Paul Street. Ikea Carter and her mother, Judy Moody, run the K. LaFox House of Beauty shop on St. Paul St., and now they plan to open a bar and eatery down the block. Moody's Place will take over the basement space at 800 St. Paul St. that used to belong to Melody Cafe, a coffee shop that closed last fall.
