American Airlines, in a widely expected move, extended the amount of time the 737 Max will be off its schedule, the carrier announced Friday. American Airlines Group Inc. (Nasdaq: AAL) now expects the 737 Max to return to service on Aug. 18. Previously, the Fort Worth, Texas-based based carrier projected the plane's return for June 4.
