Amazon ends delivery firm contracts, resulting in thousands of layoffs

Delivery companies around the country are laying off at least 2,200 employees as Amazon ends contracts, including hundreds in Washington state. Amazon told the Business Journal it’s planning to provide laid off employees with opportunities to work for other Amazon partner delivery driver firms, particularly those that rose out of its Delivery Service Partner program, which launched in 2018.
