As “non-essential” businesses brace for shutdown as Denver begins enforcing stay-at-home orders at 5 p.m. today, most breweries will continue operating, buoyed by definitions in state and federal laws that regulate beer as a food. Mayor Michael Hancock issued the order Monday, announcing that city residents must stay inside unless they were getting food, getting medical care or supplies, going to an essential job or exercising at a safe social distance from others, with a few more exceptions…
