Every 10 years or so, the power dynamic between companies and private equity investors seems to shift from one group to the other. The early 2000s recession saw the pendulum swing to favor investors, and then slowly shift back to companies over the ensuing years. The 2008 financial crisis again shifted negotiating power back to investors. Since that time, a robust economy and general business optimism have led to some of the most company-favorable valuations and investment terms seen in decades.…
