Bite Squad announced plans to hire 500 drivers to deliver restaurant and grocery orders in the Twin Cities in what appears to be a significant expansion of its local contract workforce. The third-party delivery service, which is based in Minneapolis but owned by a Louisiana company, had about 700 drivers in Minneapolis and St. Paul in February when it announced plans to lay off employee drivers and convert them to independent contractors.
