Ironman World Championship moves from Hawaii Island to Utah for 2021 event

The Ironman World Championship, which has been held in Kailua-Kona since the early 1980s, has relocated its 2021 event to St. George, Utah, because of Covid-19 impacts to Hawaii Island. The world-renowned 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride and 26.2-mile triathlon was to take place on Oct. 9 in its traditional site, but in August was rescheduled to Feb. 5, 2022.
