Memphis housing market sees continued increase in sales, costs

The Memphis housing market remained strong in September but stayed below summer peaks.  Data released by the Memphis Area Association of Realtors (MAAR) showed that there were 2,149 homes sold in September, up 5.4% from August. The numbers also continued a strong year-over-year showing as sales in September were up 17.6%. Prices also continued to rise. The median sales price was $210,000, an 11% increase from a year ago.
