Qatar- QRCS Ramadan projects to reach 61,865 beneficiaries

(MENAFN - The Peninsula) Doha: Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has initiated a series of charitable projects for the benefit of tens of thousands of vulnerable groups in Qatar, under its Ramadan Campaign 1442 A.H. titled ‘Race to All That Is Good'. The plan involves several Ramadan projects, such as Ramadan Iftar, Zakatul-Fitr, and Eid Clothing. This food and seasonal aid targets 61,865 beneficiaries, such as labourers, patients, and poor families in Qatar. First, there will be a Ramadan Iftar project, which is limited to ready-made food meals, in light of the COVID-19 outbreak and strict preventive measures. Throughout the holy month of Ramadan, daily fresh meals will be distributed to poor families and workers across the country. At a total cost of QR1.2m, this project will cover 48,000 beneficiaries. Likewise, there will be the Cordiality Iftar, a project to distribute fresh meals every day to patients and medical staff at hospitals. It targets 7,500 beneficiaries, at a total cost of QR262,000. A third project to be implemented by QRCS is the Ramadan Provisions, which involves the distribution of purchase vouchers to 1,220 beneficiaries from poor families, to secure their food needs throughout the month of fasting, at a total cost of QR280,000. As usual every year, QRCS will help those wishing to pay their ZakatFitr, by delivering purchase vouchers to 2,250 persons from poor families, to secure their food needs, while observing the Sharia-specified time for paying Zakatul-Fitr. This project will cost QR 517,000 in total. Regarding EidFitr, QRCS will distribute QR 500,835 worth of purchase vouchers to poor families to secure new clothes for their children and make them feel the joy of Eid.
