Science in a Minute: Scientists Measure Day Length on Venus

A team of UCLA-led scientists bounced radar off the surface of Venus for the last 15 years to get a precise measurement of its day length. They determined there are 243.0226 Earth days in one day on Venus, give or take 20 minutes each day. A year of Earth’s sister planet lasts only 225 days, meaning a day is longer than a year on Venus.
