NYPD to hand out fines for violating social-distancing rules amid coronavirus, de Blasio says

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said Tuesday he has directed the New York Police Department to begin issuing fines of $250 to $500 for people who are not following social distancing guidelines and β€œdon’t get it,” as the city grapples with the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus.
