Biden appoints Amb. Sung Kim as special envoy to North Korea, signals commitment to diplomacy

President Biden said the U.S. and South Korea are both “deeply concerned” about the situation in North Korea, and announced he is appointing Ambassador Sung Kim as special envoy to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).
