*INDIANAPOLIS, IN / ACCESSWIRE / December 21, 2020 /* For many, 2020 has been a year of setbacks. But for Osagie Christopher Ekhator, formally known as Chris Kator, this new "virtual reality" has only shown him his career dreams are even more feasible.

Growing up in Nigeria, Kator hoped to one day play professional soccer, but put this goal on hold to attend university. While no longer pursuing a career in the sport, he never lost sight of his love for the game. An avid Leicester City fan, Kator reached out to the Sky Sports' show, Fanzone, hoping to guest commentate for one of their games. "For years, no one got back to me," he said. Until one day, they did. "Finally they reached out, and I have been on the show for the last 5 years." He even won an award for being the club's Best Analyst.

Despite his dedication to Leicester City, Kator's allegiance reaches across the pond as well. He is an avid fan of the Los Angeles Football Club, or LAFC, so much so that his signature celebration dance has been broadcast on TV multiple times, inspiring others to take part in it too.

Kator's love of soccer should come as no surprise, considering it runs in the family. His cousin is Peter Odemwingie, who has played across Europe as well as professionally for Nigeria, representing them in two World Cups and winning Silver in the 2008 Olympics. "We used to play pickup games together," Kator said, reminiscing on his childhood. "Sometimes he teases me about the fact that I can do some tricks he can't do. He jokes that if I'm so good, why couldn't I play pro?"

While Kator is not currently making waves playing the game himself, he is still influencing the international soccer community on a large scale. "I'm hopefully going to set up my own soccer show," he said, adding his goal is to interview MLS players and do in-depth analysis of their games.

All this from the comfort of his in-home studio. "Quarantine has shown me it's possible to host interviews without people being physically in a space," Kator said. He believes COVID-19 has created a platform for virtual entertainment that will continue post-pandemic. The show is set to air in January of 2021.

Kator's passion for the game has also translated into the soccer community of his home country, Nigeria. He hosted a local grassroots tournament in Benin-City, Edo State, called, Kators Cup. "I hope to do a lot of that in the future. Youth sports can help kids have a better life."

Now residing in Texas, Kator reflects on his life and success so far, and hopes others can stay positive during this challenging time. "Life can be crazy, it can be hard," he said. "But having a positive attitude can give you the ability to take on the day as it comes."
