Although we expected a new Dead Space game, Electronic Arts announced the return of the franchise in the form of a remake. The original Dead Space is being rebuilt from the ground up on the Frostbite game engine for next-gen consoles. The upcoming Dead Space remake is developed by Motive, the same studio responsible for Star Wars Battlefront II and Star Wars: Squadrons. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, so it doesn't look like EA is targeting PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles with this remake. “The Dead Space franchise made a huge impact on the survival horror genre when it was released 12 years ago, and I came to Motive as a fan first to specifically work on this game.
