According to a statement released by the White House, Miriam Adelson — a doctor and wife of casino tycoon Sheldon Adelson who is also a republican donor — Sen. Orrin Hatch, former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach and jurist Alan C. Page will also receive the nation’s highest honor for a civilian.
“This prestigious award is the Nation’s highest civilian honor, which may be awarded by the President to individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors,” read the press release.
Presley served almost two years in the United States Army, starred in 31 films and earned 14 Grammy nominations while selling billions of records. The musician died in 1997 of a heart attack when he was 42 years old.
Ruth played for four baseball teams between 1914 and 1935 and earned 714 home runs, 2,873 hits and 2,174 runs. He died in 1948 due to esophageal cancer.

Scalia served on the Supreme Court from 1976 until his death in 2016.
