FBI finds gunman in Dayton, Ohio, rampage was obsessed with violence
Tuesday, 6 August 2019 The gunman who killed his sister and eight other people in Dayton, Ohio, before he was slain by police had a history of violent obsessions and had previously mused about committing mass murder, an FBI official said on Tuesday.
FBI agent Todd Wickerham says the suspected gunman in the Dayton, Ohio, weekend shooting that killed nine people was exploring violent ideologies but it was unclear whether that influenced his actions. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).
Gizmodo reports the Department of Homeland Security deployed aircraft in Dayton, Ohio, New York City, Buffalo, and Philadelphia, among other cities. The drones and aircraft were taking footage of protesters demonstrating over the death of George Floyd by the police. The footage is now part of the 'Big Pipe,' which can be accessed by other federal agencies and local police departments for use in future investigations.
