"Mass shooting" -- Are we getting used to this in our midst?

We have seen kids shot at a house party, cops killed while they were studying computers over morning coffee, customers gunned down at a cosmetics counter, patrons massacred at a coffee shop, and a man open fire in a hall at a Christian university.  The Puget Sound area is no stranger to mass shootings.

Are we "getting used to" this?
