Auburn police officer charged with murder in 2019 shooting; first prosecution under I-940

Prosecutors will file second-degree murder and second-degree assault charges against Auburn police Officer Jeff Nelson in connection with the May 2019 fatal shooting of 27-year-old Jesse Sarey, King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg announced Thursday morning to reporters via a Zoom call.
