2/22: Icy winter weather turns deadly in Tennessee; Surf photographer captures the dangers of the California coast

Severe ice conditions added one more layer of misery for Tennessee, which remains in a state of emergency. There are 21 confirmed deaths attributed to the weather; and, as so much of the nation shivers, the waves at Mavericks, a surf spot just south of San Francisco, are legendary.
