The SS United States was the fastest, sleekest ocean liner afloat. For nearly two decades, it was the preferred mode of transatlantic transport for presidents, royalty and even movie stars. Then came the jet age, and she nearly went to the scrap heap. The ship was retired in 1969, but now there's hope the ship will sail again. Vinita Nair reports.
