SFGate Friday, 21 April 2017
Substation fire could be linked to huge SF power outage The widespread power outage that struck San Francisco on Friday morning hit at about the same time as a fire at a Pacific Gas and Electric Co. substation at Larkin and Eddy streets in the city, although a company spokesman said it was not yet clear whether the blaze was a cause of the blackout or the result of it. All PG&E employees who work at the substation were safe, Doherty said.
