Rudy Giuliani on Trump Campaign: 'I Never Said There Was No Collusion'

Rudy Giuliani on Trump Campaign: 'I Never Said There Was No Collusion'by 👩‍💻 Stephanie Boyd

While the US government continues to undergo a partial shutdown amid President Donald Trump requesting over $5 billion to fund a border wall against Mexico – and while the Democrats refuse to budge – it appears that the ongoing Russian collusion scandal lurking in the background has reared its head once again. Trump’s 2016 General Election campaign is fighting allegations of alleged collusion with Russian agents, and with Robert Mueller continuing to preside over what Trump has continued to refer to as a ‘witch hunt’, it seems this is a story that’s far from over.

With Trump’s previous attorney Michael Cohen having been given jail time and with former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort also falling under legal scrutiny, the rabbit hole appears to be going deeper. Trump’s current personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, appears to have snatched headlines again for the collusion scandal as he outwardly denied having stated that ‘no collusion’ ever took place.

Giuliani, who was also famous for having been New York Mayor for considerable years, advised CNN with regard to comments he had supposedly made previously. “I never said there was no collusion between the campaign, or between people in the campaign,” the lawyer stated in TV conversation. “I said the President of the United States.” Therefore, his message is clear – Trump, as far as Giuliani states, is free from blame. But what about those actively managing his campaign?

“If the collusion happened, it happened a long time ago,” the attorney added. Will this latest set of soundbites start to set a few cogs whirring, or is it all hyperbole and hot air?

“There is not a single bit of evidence the President of the United States committed the only crime you can commit here, conspiring with the Russians to hack the DNC,” he advised, according to The Guardian. This of course refers to a previous scandal whereby a number of outlets such as WikiLeaks obtained thousands of senior Democrat emails during the 2016 campaign.

Giuliani appears to be sticking by the President through what remains one of the most intense political periods in the US’ domestic history. This latest news comes as Michael Cohen admitted this week that he had attempted to rig polls in Trump’s favor ahead of the election. “I truly regret my blind loyalty to a man who doesn’t deserve it,” he tweeted.

How far will the rabbit hole go? When will the Mueller report be delivered – and who will be on the chopping block, if anyone? Time will tell.
