Sydney Barber First Black Woman to Serve as US Naval Academy Brigade Commander

Sydney Barber, Midshipman 1st Class, would be the first woman of color to become the brigade commander at the United States Naval Academy. She would hold the highest leadership position for the spring semester within the brigade.
