Statin Drugs More Beneficil Than Harmful?

Researchers say concerns about potential side effects from statin drugs are overblown based on their relatively low risk compared to the overwhelming evidence the drugs prevent adverse health events at very high rates, according to a new review and comparison of studies.

According to UPI, some researchers currently believe that Fears concerning the potential side effects of taking statin drugs in efforts to lower cholesterol are overblown which may in fact be inhibiting some patients from using the drugs despite their larger benefits like preventing heart attacks.

Researchers at the University of Oxford conducted a study and found that although side effects are possible from using statin drugs, the benefits of them seem to be undersold.
