It's tech tuesday, and today we're talking about one app, we think you should download.

(jim gefroh, kx news) you might have a lot of apps on your phone, but we want you to check out our new and improved kx news app.

(amber schatz, kx news) this is how easy it is.

First you find the kx news app, it should look like this.

Then you hit install, then open.

(jim gefroh, kx news) guru of geek marlo anderson explains more in this week's tech tuesday.

(marlo) "it'll plug into the usb port on yours or you can plug it in one of the two and that's how it powers itself."

(gefroh) for marlo anderson, technology is the name of the game.

(marlo anderson) "of course the old vhs.

The most popular format of all time."

(gefroh) from vhs to roku, marlo does it all.

He works at the zoovio building in mandan as a tech expert.

And marlo has worked with a lot of technology over the years.

(marlo) "i remember actually recording miami vice which i think was 1982.

Yes, i had the clothes and everything.

I was a big fan of miami vice.

Because i was at home those evenings, i would use my vcr to actually record those."

(gefroh) even though technology like the vcr and vhs are disappearing, marlo says newer technologies are something to be excited about.

(marlo) "i always adapt to new things.

I actually enjoy the newer technology over the old."

(gefroh) marlo works to make sure nothing is lost to old technology.

He takes memories from old tapes by digitizing them to newer formats.

He says his favorite part is capturing moments for other people.

(marlo) "it can be very emotional when people bring their treasures in and that's basically what we refer to them as treasures because you never know what you're going to find on these videos."

(jim gefroh, kx news) marlo says he has helped people find their parents' old wedding videos and other memories thanks to his job.
